NMN & NAD+

How Much NMN Should You Take? Understanding NMN Dosage Research

The NMN doses used in human trials — 250mg, 300mg, 600mg and 900mg per day — and why no single dose has been established as universally optimal.

One of the most common questions surrounding NMN is: how much NMN should you take?

Search online and you'll encounter dramatically different answers.

The scientific answer requires more context.

There is no universally established optimal NMN dose

Human NMN research is still developing.

There isn't currently a single scientifically established dosage that is optimal for every person or every intended purpose.

Instead, we can examine the quantities researchers have actually studied.

250mg NMN per day

One placebo-controlled trial investigated 250mg NMN per day for 12 weeks.

Researchers reported increased whole-blood NAD+ concentrations.

300mg, 600mg and 900mg

Another randomised trial involving 80 generally healthy adults investigated 300mg/day, 600mg/day and 900mg/day for 60 days.

Researchers assessed NAD concentrations and several secondary outcomes.

Does more NMN mean better results?

Not necessarily.

A larger dose doesn't automatically translate into proportionately greater meaningful health effects.

A biological change such as an altered biomarker is also not automatically equivalent to an improvement in health outcomes.

Why does VitamiQ contain 500mg?

VitamiQ NMN provides 500mg NMN per capsule.

This gives customers a clearly labelled amount per capsule without requiring several capsules simply to reach the amount displayed on the product.

However, VitamiQ does not claim that 500mg represents a universally optimal NMN dose.

Follow your product instructions

Do not create your own supplementation programme simply by copying doses used in clinical studies.

Research studies are conducted under controlled conditions in selected populations.

Always follow the directions on your product.
